Just submitted my project for the Flash Forward Jam 2022. Checking back on my old submissions and my last game project was submitted 11 whole dang years ago. That is crazy to me. In the meantime, I have graduated college, become a web developer, learned the basics of Unity and Unreal Engine, tinkered with prototypes for games, fell in love, etc etc. It's hard to say, but Flash 'dying' really killed my spark for finishing these game projects. It makes me feel weak to have my own drive to do something that I love tied to something external and out of my control. I'd like to think I can push myself beyond the barrier of Flash, some day, when I am ready to work on such a project. I'm confident that I can... But for the games I want to make, at the scale I want to make them, Flash is such a perfect fit that it truly did hurt to have it 'taken away'. I am very thankful for the Ruffle Developers, working on this project helped reignite that spark within me, not that it ever actually went away. It feels great to make a Flash game!
Anyways, check it out!
